True Friendship

True friendship is my topic for today. 

As a young person, I moved many many times, and it was sometimes difficult for me to create lasting relationships, because as soon as I began getting to know people we would be moving to another place.  It took such a long time for me to understand the basics of a great relationship.  A great relationship is one where the two people involved are there for each other through thick and thin.  It is where one friend can tell the other friend honestly what they need to share from their heart.  Its a safe place for both people to express what they want and what they need.  A place where you can laugh and a place where you can cry.  When you are in a true friendship, there will be all of the emotions that you can feel.  For years I thought that being in a friendship with someone meant that they would only agree with me about everything, that they would always agree with me even when some of my ideas were not very good ones.  Well, I was wrong.  A friend is someone who will tell you if you have made a mistake, if you are doing something wrong, if you are on the wrong path.  A friend will help you back on the right path with all the love they have in their heart for you.  A true friend, will be there for those days when your life has been hit by a truck and also when your life is blossoming.  I have had a few good friends who are this way.  So remember, when your friend is telling you something that may be hard to hear, listen and hear what they have to say.  They have your best interests at heart.
